Environment health determines our quality of life. The picture above depicts the natural environment of much of the Willamette Valley prior to settlement by Euro-Americans. The Willamette Valley was periodically burned by Native Americans in the region to utilize food items and provide favorable hunting grounds. The dependence on the environment formed an inextricable link between the people and the land. |
